Kvinder og gudinder på Assistens kirkegård

** (Start at the subway Rounddel)**

On this unique city walk, you'll step in the footsteps of some of Copenhagen's most remarkable women. Together we stroll through Assistens cemetery, a unique place steeped in history and significance. We open the doors to buried tales of women of yesteryear -- celebrities, pioneers and the unsung heroines of everyday life.

A tour of Europe's most beautiful cemetery, where we visit the cookbook madam Anna Marie Mangor who revolutionized life in the kitchen when she published Cookbook for Small Households in 1837.

We remember Dagmar Hansen and the warm-blooded Barrisson sisters who were too naughty for Denmark, but laid the whole of Europe at their feet and ended up as world stars.

We hum along to Karen Jønsson's “whimsical happiness”.

We mourn the loss of Denmark's first stuntwoman Emilie Sannom, who became world-famous in record time but was later caught up by fate when she jumped to her death in front of 8000 spectators.

We feel the hairs rise at the thought of the widow who was buried alive.

The Assistens cemetery walk is always a very special experience and many therefore also use it for birthdays, company and anniversary parties.
